Accreditation
High School
Clare High School has a long history of North Central Association Accreditation. Very few surroundings schools enjoy that level of accreditation. Clare received its first Outcomes accreditation in March of 1998. Clare High School is now in its second cycle of OA accreditation. It is involved in the third year of that cycle. Using “base line data” the school improvement team has identified 4 goals which will be the focus of our school improvement process:
Goal 1 – Students will demonstrate an increase in high-level thinking skill both within specific content areas and across disciplines.
Goal 2 – Students will improve in their awareness of social issues and world cultures across the curriculum.
Goal 3 – Students will improve in their reading skills in all disciplines.
Goal 4 – Students will improve their writing skills across the curriculum.
Target goal committees have worked to identify strategies which will result in improved student performances. During the scheduled in-service work days, the high school staff has worked to develop comprehensive strategies which will be implemented across the curriculum. These plans will be reviewed by the North Central Visiting Team before they are implemented. That visit is scheduled for the 2002-2003 school year.
Middle School
Clare Middle School initiated the North Central accreditation Outcomes Based Process during the 1994-95 school year. School improvement target goals were established in the areas of Problem Solving, Academic Responsibility, and Reading Comprehension. CMS completed its final NCA report and hosted the final NCA visitation on April 24, 2001. CMS earned the highest rating possible through the NCA Accreditation/Evaluation Process. The school received a “5” which is an exemplary rating. During the 2001-02 school year the CMS staff revisited their target area goals and began preparation for the next NCA. cycle. The next NCA. cycle will be imitated during the 2002-2003 school year
Primary School
The Clare Primary School completed and submitted the accreditation report to the Department of Education. The analysis indicates that the primary school has received interim status in 1999-2000 under the State of Michigan accreditation process.
